Abhishek Sharma, India’s opener, had a remarkable second T20I against Zimbabwe by scoring his maiden century in the shortest format of cricket. After a challenging start to his T20I career with a four-ball duck in his debut, the 23-year-old showcased his skills with a blazing hundred in the second match. He started aggressively with a six over deep backward square leg and went on to score a century in just 47 balls, including seven fours and eight maximums.
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek’s mentor, congratulated him on his achievement and advised him to stay focused and not get complacent after one outstanding innings.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day! Congratulations @IamAbhiSharma4 on the journey to your first International 100! Many more to come,” Yuvraj captioned a post, acknowledging Abhishek’s progress.
