“These matches are crucial preparation for me before the T20 World Cup,” Rodrigues mentioned during a media event hosted by FanCode.
“I’m excited to work on certain aspects and apply them in actual matches because the intensity is different. Franchise cricket has always been a thrill for me.”
Approaching her fourth T20 World Cup, Rodrigues would have had to rely solely on preparatory camps and practice matches if not for her time in WCPL.
“I see this as preparation for the T20 World Cup, and also a responsibility to contribute to TKR’s success,” Rodrigues expressed about her WCPL stint.

“I enjoy the opportunity to travel and play for different teams,” Rodrigues shared her excitement about playing in the Caribbean. “Meeting new people and cricketers, adapting to different conditions, and experiencing diverse situations are valuable experiences for me.”
“Playing these matches is a great way for me to prepare for the T20 World Cup and contribute to my team’s success,” Rodrigues added eagerly.
Known for her elegant touch play, Rodrigues is adjusting to batting at No. 5 under the guidance of India head coach Amol Muzumdar, aiming to bring stability to the middle order. However, in the WCPL, she is expected to bat at No. 3.
Could the change in batting positions present a challenge?
“Every batter has their own approach,” Rodrigues explained regarding the difficulties of batting on slower Caribbean pitches. “For me, it’s crucial to quickly assess the conditions and determine which shots work best for me on a slow track. Clarity and adaptability are key for me in any playing environment.”
