Star India cricketer Virat Kohli boarded a flight to London on Friday, shortly after participating in the team’s T20 World Cup celebrations in Mumbai. The Indian squad arrived in New Delhi in the early hours of Thursday after a 16-hour journey on a chartered flight from Barbados. Subsequently, the players met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who honored them and shared a meal with the entire team. Following this, they boarded another chartered flight from New Delhi to Mumbai, where eager fans awaited their arrival.
The players engaged in an open bus victory parade, attracting thousands of spectators at Mumbai’s Marine Drive who wanted to catch a glimpse of the newly crowned world champions.
After the parade, the team made their way to Wankhede Stadium, where the BCCI had arranged a special felicitation ceremony. The BCCI awarded a prize money of Rs 125 crore to the team, as promised earlier. The squad enjoyed music, dancing, and a victory lap before dispersing to their homes. However, Kohli was seen boarding a flight to London, supposedly to reunite with his wife Anushka Sharma and their children, Vamika and Akaay.

According to reports, the 36-year-old cricketer departed from India on a private chartered flight bound for London at 3:15 am and arrived by 12:45 pm (IST).
Anushka had been spotted at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York for the iconic India vs. Pakistan match but had stayed away from the rest of the tournament.
Kohli had a lackluster performance leading up to the T20 World Cup final but delivered a crucial innings when it mattered the most. Prior to the final, he had only scored 75 runs. However, he produced a match-winning 76 in the crucial game, earning him the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket moments after India’s triumph in the final. However, the prolific batsman will continue to compete in the longer formats.
