Virat Kohli, the star batter of the Indian cricket team, is currently preparing for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. The former Indian cricket team has not performed well in the tournament so far, with Kohli failing to reach double digit figures in the matches. However, with the Super 8 stage being held in the West Indies, Kohli is aiming for a strong comeback. On Father’s Day, Kohli received a special wish from his wife, popular actor Anushka Sharma, who posted an image of footprints with a heartfelt caption expressing her love for him.
“How can one person be so good at so many things! Baffling ??….. ?? we LOVE YOU,” the post read. Kohli responded with a heart emoji.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has suggested that young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal should open the batting for India during the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Vaughan believes that Kohli should return to batting at no. 3 position. He also recommends Rishabh Pant to bat at no. 5 as all Super 8 matches will be played in the Caribbean.
“I love Yashasvi Jaiswal, I’d want him to be opening the batting. Virat or Rohit at No.3, I’m not too bothered by which right-hander goes to No.3. Shivam Dube is at No.5 but in the Caribbean I’d have Rishabh Pant in there. Yashasvi is an incredible player. He is such a good batter, I would want him in,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.
Vaughan believes India have made mistakes in the past by not including enough left-handed batters in the team.
“I like the fact that they have gone with left-handers. I thought not having enough left-handers was a mistake from India in the past so I can kind of understand that but I would want Jaiswal in my team,” he also pointed out.
