Toss Netherlands chose to bowl vs Bangladesh
Netherlands captain Scott Edwards decided to field first against Bangladesh in the first international match at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown after almost ten years. The toss was delayed due to drizzle in the morning, but the weather is expected to be clear for the rest of the day.
“Not many teams are familiar with the conditions here,” said Edwards at the toss. “Our team is excited for the challenge and we want to give ourselves the best chance.”
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was okay with batting first but emphasized the importance of handling the new ball carefully. Bangladesh is sticking with the same playing XI as their previous game against South Africa.
With South Africa already securing a spot in the Super Eight from Group D, a victory in this match is crucial for both teams to progress to the next round.
