“Scoring 111 runs was a tough task, but credit to us for achieving it. We remained calm under pressure, built a strong partnership, and Surya and Dube displayed maturity to see the game through till the end.”
Dube contributed 31 off 35 balls, showing determination despite initially struggling to accelerate the scoring rate against the tricky pitch conditions. A crucial six off Corey Anderson in the 15th over shifted the momentum as India needed 44 runs from 35 balls at that point.
Known for his spin-hitting abilities for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, Dube’s selection for the World Cup was also based on his all-round skills. Rohit entrusted Dube with an over during the match, which yielded 11 runs in a relatively low-scoring game.
“Having versatile options like Dube is essential for us. We utilized his skills today, considering the pitch conditions. Moving forward, having such options will be beneficial for the team,” Rohit emphasized.
“Last year, we saw them play in the MLC as well, they’re going from strength to strength, and I can hope for nothing but the best for them. They’re hard-working guys making their mark here in US”

“We knew the bowlers had to step up, considering the challenging pitch conditions. All our bowlers executed their plans well, especially Arshdeep, who set the tone beautifully. It was not easy playing cricket in these conditions, and the game could have gone either way.”
“In all three games, we had to fight till the end and show resilience. Fortunately, we managed to come out on top in all three games, gaining valuable confidence from victories like these.”
“Many of these players have crossed paths with me in the world of cricket. It is great to see their development and success. They are dedicated individuals who are leaving a strong impact in US cricket,” Rohit expressed.
