Toss Sri Lanka chose to bowl vs India
Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka decided to bowl first in the third and final T20I against India at Pallekele. With the series already lost, Sri Lanka is aiming to prevent a whitewash.
Due to the weather conditions – the toss was delayed by 70 minutes and the match start by an hour due to rain and a wet outfield – both teams preferred to bowl first. The game is being played on a fresh pitch that is expected to favor spinners.
India made four changes to ensure everyone in the squad had a chance to play. Shubman Gill returned after missing the second T20I due to neck spasms, while Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, and Khaleel Ahmed made their first appearance in the series. Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Arshdeep Singh were left out to make room for them.
