“We have a depth of opening batting options,” Masood stated. “With Imam-ul-Haq absent, we are exploring different players. We have a squad of 20-25 players, and we wanted to assess Hurraira’s potential after his consistent performances in domestic cricket. Ayub showed promise in his previous Test innings against Australia, so we want to give him a proper chance.”
“Considering Pakistan’s position in the WTC, we need to win our home matches,” Masood elaborated. “We selected Ali for his ability to complement our fast bowlers and provide a different dynamic to our attack.”
Pakistan is aiming to improve their performance in the WTC and reach the finals, bringing joy to their fans. “We want to play exciting cricket that leads to positive results,” Masood emphasized.
Under the guidance of new coach Jason Gillespie, Pakistan will strive to leverage their strength in fast bowling to secure victories. “Our goal is to take 20 wickets and then support our bowlers with strong batting performances,” Masood concluded.
