Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 internationals following India’s victory at the T20 World Cup 2024, making him the third senior cricketer to do so after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Jadeja shared the news on his Instagram account, expressing his gratitude for his time playing T20 cricket.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals,” Jadeja wrote after India’s thrilling win over South Africa in the World Cup final. “I have always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats.”
“Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, the highlight of my T20 international career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support.”
Jadeja concludes his T20I career after playing 74 matches, contributing to India’s successful World Cup campaign by appearing in every match. Although he had a limited role in the tournament, Jadeja made valuable contributions with both bat and ball, finishing with a total of 54 wickets and 515 runs in the format.
At 35, Jadeja remains a highly decorated player in the IPL, with four titles to his name. He will continue to represent India in Tests and ODIs, where he has established himself as a key all-rounder with impressive statistics in both formats.
