Due to ongoing construction at the National Stadium in Karachi for the Champions Trophy in 2025, the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been relocated to Rawalpindi.
Originally scheduled to take place in Karachi from August 30 to September 3, the match was supposed to be played behind closed doors due to the construction work. However, with the game now moved to Rawalpindi, fans will be able to attend.
A press release from the PCB stated, “Construction experts have advised us on the timelines for the readiness of the National Stadium in Karachi. They cautioned that the noise and dust from the construction could disrupt the players and affect their health. Therefore, in order to ensure uninterrupted work for the Champions Trophy 2025, the PCB has decided to relocate both Tests to Rawalpindi.”
Additionally, the PCB mentioned that Karachi is set to host England in two months, but they are still evaluating the situation before confirming the second Test in Karachi from October 15-19. They will continue to coordinate with the architects and construction experts to ensure the safety and security of the match.
