The Paris Olympics 2024 has provided sports enthusiasts with many unforgettable moments. Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec’s viral shooting pose during the event has become a global sensation. This iconic celebration has now transcended into the world of cricket, with West Indians Kieron Pollard and Akeal Hosein showcasing it during The Hundred final.
In the final match between Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave, Pollard and Hosein replicated Dikec’s pose. Akeal first did it after dismissing Sam Curran, and Pollard followed suit with a similar celebration after catching Donovan Ferreira.
Despite their efforts, the Southern Brave fell short as the Oval Invincibles emerged victorious by 17 runs, claiming their second title. England’s Sam Curran, who was named the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of The Hundred 2024, continued to shine in the tournament.
In the end, it was bowler Saqib Mahmood who stole the show with his three wickets for just 17 runs in 20 balls. The final also saw Curran, a key player for England in the T20 World Cup, demonstrate his all-round skills once again.
