India is set to have a two-day pink-ball warm-up match before the day-night Test against Australia in Adelaide. This match will be against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra.
The pink-ball match is scheduled for November 30 and December 1 at Manuka Oval, creating a gap between the first and second Tests.
In recent years, the Prime Minister’s XI fixture has evolved from a limited-overs match to a four-day contest. However, for the India game, it has been condensed to just two days.
Unlike the previous tour where Adelaide was the opening Test, this time the series will commence in Perth and consist of five Tests.
In recent years, the Prime Minister’s XI has been a tough opponent, akin to an Australia A team. Players like Matt Renshaw have excelled in recent fixtures against West Indies and Pakistan.
Prior to the first Test, India will have an intra-squad warm-up at the WACA from November 15-18. They will arrive in Australia after a series against New Zealand.
Additionally, an India A squad will tour Australia for two four-day matches in Mackay and Melbourne starting late October.
