India is scheduled to tour South Africa in November of this year to participate in four T20Is. The matches are set to take place from November 8 to 15 in Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg.
Hosting India proves to be a significant financial boost for most cricket boards, including CSA. It is estimated that the broadcast revenues from a single T20 match amount to over R150 million (US $8.4 million). CSA reported a loss of R119 million in the previous financial year.
“I extend my gratitude to the BCCI for their unwavering support of South African cricket, and global cricket as a whole,” expressed Lawson Naidoo, Chairperson of CSA. “Any visit by the Indian cricket team to our country is always filled with great camaraderie and thrilling cricket. I am confident that our fans are eagerly anticipating this series, which will showcase the exceptional talent of both teams.”
