“The medical panel has determined that he requires four to six weeks of recovery time, leading to his absence from the PSL season,” the Qalandars stated in a release.
Rauf got injured while taking a tumbling catch running in from long-off to dismiss Hasan Ali off the second last ball of a close game. Despite his good performance with the ball, the defending champions suffered their fourth consecutive loss. Rauf had earlier struggled in the season but showed improvement in the last game, picking up 1 wicket for 22 runs from his four overs.
This injury adds to a challenging period for Rauf both on and off the field, following his lackluster performance in the World Cup and subsequent issues with the PCB. His absence will be sorely felt by the struggling Qalandars team in the absence of key players like Rashid Khan this season.
