The BCCI has recently made alterations to India’s home season schedule. The first T20I against Bangladesh, originally slated for October 6 in Dharamsala, has been shifted to Gwalior. Additionally, the venues for the first and second T20Is against England in January 2025 have been swapped, with Kolkata now hosting the first match and Chennai the second.
Regarding England’s tour in 2025, the original plan had Chennai hosting the first T20I on January 22 and Kolkata the second on January 25. However, due to prior commitments and obligations of Kolkata Police for Republic Day, the venues have been switched. The BCCI clarified that this change was made in response to a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal.
India’s upcoming home international season in 2024-25 kicks off with a series against Bangladesh, featuring two Tests and three T20Is from September 19 to October 12. Following this, New Zealand is scheduled to visit for three Test matches from October 16 to November 5.
Afterwards, India will embark on a tour to Australia for five Test matches spanning from November 22 to January 7. Upon their return, the team will host England for five T20Is and three ODIs from January 22 to February 12. These ODIs against England will be India’s only 50-over matches before the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
