The upcoming tour will consist of three T20 matches in Brisbane, three 50-over games in Mackay, and a four-day match on the Gold Coast.
The four-day game will offer players from both teams a unique chance to participate in long-format cricket.
“I’m excited to be part of this series and to face the challenge presented by India A,” McGrath expressed. “It provides those of us not involved in the Hundred with an opportunity to prepare for a significant summer against a tough opponent.”
Shawn Flegler, the national selector, commented, “This series will enable us to closely observe players who have impressed at the domestic level, while also allowing contracted players to fine-tune their skills ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.”
Australia’s upcoming schedule includes a three-match T20I series against New Zealand in mid-September, followed by the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. This will kick off a busy season, with the WBBL commencing shortly after the World Cup, a brief tour of New Zealand in December, and the multi-format Ashes in January.
